The Florida Recreation and Park Assocation, Inc. hosts a day-long conference on February 7, 2008 that will take place at the City of Miami Beach's North Shore Park and Youth Center--501 72nd Street, Miami Beach.

FOOTBALL FOR ALL - THE 12TH MAN FOOTBALL CAMP
The camp is for youth ages 10 & up, who depend on wheelchairs, walkers, crutches or who have other disabilites that prohibit their ability to participate in organized football. This is a hands-on learning experience that will give each child who always wanted to play ball but was told "no", the opportunity to participate.

The Good Hope Equestrian Center recently received funding from the Dade Community Foundation to provide weekly therapeutic horseback riding and horsemanship classes. Participants, children with autism between 4 and 15 years old, will take part in weekly equine assisted programs, engaging their sensory processing and modulation, while promoting physical fitness, fun and friendships.
Fifteen participants are being sought for each of the following Sessions which will be held on Saturday mornings: April 12th - June 21st and June 27th - Septemmber 13th.

ADAPTIVE AQUATICS CERTIFICATION REQUIRED

Under Florida law, all swimming instructors working with people who have developmental disabilities are now required to complete additional training for certification.

FUNDING AVAILABLE FOR IN-HOME SUPPORTS & THERAPIES
