Kids Included Together (KIT): Opening Doors to Inclusive Programs

A 4-part series of workshops for direct care staff that was created by Kids Included Together (KIT), a San Diego, California-based organization. The target audience is direct care staff working in out of school programs.

The KIT series consists of four 2 ½-hour modules: Introduction to Inclusion, Respectful Accommodations, Supporting Positive Behavior, and Partnering with Families. While each module stands alone, we strongly recommend that participants attend all four sessions; the information is cumulative. Participants attending all four sessions will earn a valuable resource guide, written by KIT.

This series of workshops will be held at The Peacock Education Center, located in the Adrian Arsht Center for the Performing Arts, located at
1300 Biscayne Boulevard, Miami, FL 33142 on the following dates:

Discovering Inclusion: Guiding Others

March 3, 2010 - Location TBA

A 4-hour training of trainers, those successfully completing this course are certified to train their agency’s staff using the Discovering Inclusion curriculum.

Prerequisites: Staff/supervisors working with children with disabilities for at least one year, and who have successfully completed “Discovering Inclusion” or at least two modules of the KIT training series.

Those who have met the prerequisites will receive an invitation to attend.
