In partnership with people with disabilities and their families, CCDH advocates, coordinates and provides supports and services.

Irene Ballart
Family Support Coordinator

A Family Support Coordinator since 2000, Irene brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her position.  In this position, she is responsible for the provision of advocacy and support coordination services to individuals with disabilities and their families, as well as to professionals and others seeking assistance.  When not on the telephone helping callers identify and access the services they need and want, Irene participates in community outreach events and conducts training activities.

Much of Irene’s deep understanding of the service delivery system comes from personal experience.  The mother of three, her 20 year old daughter was born with spina bifida.  Her journey helping Christine become the independent college student she is today, allows Irene to be particularly empathic when working with others.

Currently President of the Spina Bifida Association of Southeast Florida, Irene has been a trainer for the Family Network on Disabilities and the Parent Education Network.  She is also certified by Miami-Dade County in Emergency Management Special Needs Evacuation Center Operations.
